Instructions for use

Description

The live tissue culture measles vaccine, lyophilisate for the solution for subcutaneous injection, is prepared by cultivation of the vaccine strain of Leningrad-16 (L-16) measles virus on the primary culture of quail embryo cells.

Presentation

Lyophilizate for preparation of solution for subcutaneous injection. 1 or 2 doses per ampoule. 10 ampoules in each cardboard package with a package insert and the number of packer.

Ingredients

One vaccination dose (0.5 ml) contains:

Active ingredient:
  • measles virus - at least 1,000 (3.0 lg) of tissue cytopathic doses (TCD50);
Excipients:
  • Stabilizer - a mixture of 0.04 ml of the aqueous solution LS-18* and 0.01 ml of a 10% solution of gelatin; - gentamycin sulfate - not more than 10 µg.
Note. *Composition of the aqueous LS-18 solution: sucrose - 250 mg, lactose - 50 mg, sodium glutamate - 37.5 mg, glycine - 25 mg, L-proline - 25 mg, Hanks dry mixture with phenol red - 7.15 mg, water for injection up to 1 ml.

Indications

Scheduled and emergency prevention of measles.

Scheduled vaccination is carried out twice at the age of 12 months and 6 years old in children without history of measles. Children born from mothers seronegative to the measles virus are vaccinated at the age of 8 months, then - in 14-15 months and 6 years old. The interval between vaccination and re-vaccination should be at least 6 months.

Children aged 1 to 18 years old inclusive and adults under the age of 35 years old (inclusive), not previously vaccinated, without history of measles, previously vaccinated in accordance with the instructions to vaccinate twice with an interval of at least 3 months between vaccinations or if the information about measles vaccination is not available.

Persons previously vaccinated only once are subject to a single immunization with an interval of at least 3 months between vaccinations.

Emergency prevention of exposed persons, without any age limits, not previously vaccinated, without history of measles, previously vaccinated only once or if the information about measles vaccination is not available. In the absence of contraindications the vaccine is administered not later than 72 hours from the contact with the infected person.
